Founder's Note

My father was a textile designer way back in 70’s and was one of the pioneers, in bringing screen printing into the country with innovative designs. He was the first Indian to represent handloom & handicrafts of India in Europe with support of Govt. of India. It’s was probably in my genes to design and understand the fineries of handlooms. In early childhood I had fascination for colors and designs and I would often go to my industry and spend hours with my father trying to understand the process, but as destiny would have it, I lost him when I was just 12 years old and the dream to pursue went into oblivion.

Life took a complete U- turn and I was married early and settled into family life. But soon that took a jolt when I was made to bring up my child as a single parent. Creative pursuit was always in me hence I became the part of the entertainment business and started fresh in the new city of dreams. It’s been a long bumpy ride, after 25 years being there you have a sense of achievement, but the creative child in me to play with colors and fabrics which I always wanted to explore was still wondering.

The long illness in 2017 and then the pandemic gave me a sense of exploring my lost path and here I am again redesigning and resurrecting my dream this time to make it a reality with help of my family, well-wishers, trying to build a community, a larger family to fulfill the vision of bringing a synergy through the love for handlooms, its vibrancy yet the simplicity defines the character and stands out supreme in itself. It may be late in the day personally but I want to take this step and I seek love and support from all out there to help me humbly step in this world of Magic. ~ Bhavna Sresth
